Ballard · Seattle · Kitsap
I'm Thor. I build fast, striking websites for small businesses around Seattle and Kitsap. We'll meet so I can learn about you and your business, I'll build you a free mockup before you pay a cent, and most sites go live in a week or two.
Stop putting it off. Twenty minutes over coffee is the whole first step, and the mockup is free.
Before and after
Try the slider. A redesign doesn't mean starting over, it means the good stuff finally looks the part.

Roasted in house, poured with care, seven days a week on the corner off Market.

Sample businesses, invented for the demo. Yours gets built from your real photos, in a style that suits you.
Why it matters
Most people look you up before they call or walk in. If they can't find you, they find whoever shows up instead.
Most small businesses now have a website, up from 64% in 2018. The holdouts stand out, and not in a good way.
People search online for local businesses before picking one. If you aren't online, you aren't in the running.
Mobile visits get abandoned when a page takes more than three seconds. My designs don't.

Recent work
Nothing better than a good website to show you I can build a good website. Your site should look like your business, not like mine, so every build starts from your space, your photos, and your customers.

A premium tutoring site with clear pricing and one-click booking, built to turn visitors into booked calls.

Built with the exact care I'd bring to yours. If you like how this feels, that is the point.
Back to top ↑I'm building my Ballard portfolio now, so the next few local businesses get my full attention and a price that's easy to say yes to.

I spent six years in biomedical research at the Broad Institute, Seattle Children's, and Dyno Therapeutics, and now I run CellCount.ai, a biotech software startup here in Seattle. Web Forge is what I do with the rest of my week: building websites that help local businesses reach their potential.
It's just me, start to finish. I'll answer the phone, I'll come by your shop, and once it's live I can keep your site up to date, or hand you the keys.

Science by day. Outside whenever possible.
Why work with me
Template services build sites for shops they've never set foot in. Here's what changes when the person building yours is from around here.
You don't have to picture a website from a description alone. I'll build yours first, then let you explore it. If you like the direction, I'll get to work incorporating your feedback then publish it. If not, no cost and no hard feelings.
I live in Ballard. I grew up in Poulsbo. We'll meet wherever suits you, at your shop, around the corner, or online. I learn your business face to face, and you always have a real person to call.
Most sites go live in a week or two. I'll handle the technical parts and explain everything simply. You run your business, I run the website.
How it works
No long meetings, no confusing contracts.
In person or online, whichever is easier. You tell me about your business and what you want customers to do.
Within a week I'll show you a functioning preview of your website. You give notes. Still no cost.
Once you love it, I'll put it live, set up your Google Business listing so people can find you, and hand you every login in your own name.
What I build
Pick whatever fits for you. Not sure? That's what the free mockup is for.
Everything a customer needs on one clean, scrolling page. Perfect if you just need to look great on Google.
Menus, services, galleries, your team, and more. Room to show everything, organized so customers find it fast.
Got a site from 2012 that breaks on a phone? I'll bring it into 2026 without losing what already works.
Let customers book or order right from their phone, so you spend less time scheduling and more time on what matters.
A proper site plus a polished Google listing, built so you appear when someone nearby searches, or asks an AI, for what you do.
New hours, new photos, or a holiday message? I can keep it current so you never touch a line of code. Things you change often, like events or specials, you update yourself from your phone.
Pricing
Starting at $250. Every project starts with a free mockup and a flat quote, so you'll know the price before we begin.
Your quote comes with your mockup: one flat number, itemized, before any paid work starts. Add-ons are priced per feature, so you only pay for what you actually want. For comparison, a Seattle agency typically charges $2,500 to $8,000 for a basic small-business site. I build to the same standard for a fraction, by staying lean and local.
$250 once, then about $15 a year for the domain and nothing for hosting. A DIY builder like Squarespace costs $190 to $590 a year, every year, and you do the work. Over three years that's under $300 with me and up to about $1,800 with them. If you've been putting this off, this is the moment.
Questions
Yes, all of it. The domain is registered in your name, the hosting account is yours, and you get every login in writing. If you ever want to work with someone else, you take everything with you. Before we call it done, I'll walk you through making a simple edit yourself, and you get a one-page owner's manual with every login and every how-to in it.
Yes. If you bought a domain on Squarespace, GoDaddy, Wix, or anywhere else, even years ago, it stays where it is and in your name. I point it at the new site, which takes about ten minutes and costs nothing. Not sure whether you own one? Bring the email address you'd have used and we'll find out together.
Usually, yes. A redesign keeps whatever works, your photos, your words, your Google reviews, a booking system you already use, and rebuilds the rest so it loads fast and looks right on a phone. Redesigns start at $600.
Either of us. If you'd rather not write, we'll talk for twenty minutes and I'll draft it from that, so you only have to approve it. Photos work the same way: I'll come by and shoot your space in good light. Real photos of your shop beat stock photos every time, and customers can tell the difference.
Most sites go live a week or two after you approve the mockup. The slow part is never the building, it's the photos and the words, so we'll put a date on those on day one.
Almost nothing. Hosting for a site this size is free, and the domain runs about $15 a year, paid by you, in your name. If you want me on call, the care plan is $35 a month, three-month minimum, and covers up to two edits a month. Without it, an edit is $60 per request, or you make the change yourself with the walkthrough I give you at handoff.
Then you don't pay anything and we shake hands. The mockup is free and there's no deposit until you say go. Once we're building, a round of notes is included on a starter site and two on everything else, and I'll put the whole scope in writing so there are no surprises.
Yes. I wire in tools that already do this well, like Square or Fresha for appointments and ChowNow or Square for ordering, so you're not paying me to reinvent them. Booking runs $200 to set up and ordering $400. If you already use one, I'll connect it for free.
